Summer Transition Programs
Summer Transition Programs are for Center children enrolled during the prior year and new children entering, the EC 1, EC 2 and Kindergarten programs.
Center students are encouraged to attend at least two of the six weeks offered for transition to the upcoming year. Parents may choose to have their child attend all six weeks or a combination of weeks.
The goal of Summer Transition is to acquaint the child with her new teachers and new classroom. To ease the change, the programs are led by Early Childhood and Kindergarten faculty reorganized into new teams. That way, the child enjoys the comfort of the teacher she knows while discovering the new adult who will lead the class in the coming school year.
Called Environmental Adventures, the curriculum explores environments throughout the world: undersea, the African savannah, rainforests, caves, and space. Ratios of students to teachers and fee structure are consistent with year-round programs.
For more information about the Summer Transition Program, contact the Director of Early Childhood Programs.
